Born Ron Woodruff in October 1975, Fangs has blazed a twisting uphill path to his current sound. Fangs penned his first song at age 12 while living in a boys home for delinquent youth. Fangs was known as 'White Lightning' for several years. At age 17 Fangs was given a new handle by his click and would rap as Spoony Loc for the next 10 years. Performing his first professional show in Salem, Oregon, at the now defunct "Multi-Cultural Center", Fangs gained a modest local following.
After working with a small time hustler turned producer known as 'Strait Lace' Fangs had several quality singles. These recording sessions were given rotation on KBOO, a listener supported radio station in Portland Oregon. Plans for an album including these recordings, never materialized, and legal troubles dogged Fangs through this whole period.
