The Springfield Symphony Orchestra (SSO) was founded in 1943. Music Director Peter Stafford Wilson conducts 72 of the area's finest professional musicians in a six-concert subscription series and free outreach performances. An active education program includes Concerts for Young People, a Symphony 101 series, and a Youth Orchestra program. The SSO’s exciting programming, professional quality and superb guest artists have gained the enthusiasm of audiences throughout each season.
