boxViolet, Viola narthecium, is native to Los Angeles. A fine hybrid of dilapidated and digital, the first seed of this specimen was an EP on SoSweet Records, the second an LP on Leftwing/Retone, both coming only after months of scavenging for recording time in proper studios while suffering shows at several rather unpleasant venues.
This sexually propagated variety is now on a rigorous rehearsal schedule. Upon a percussive bed, the moody stamen perfects his transfer of custom noises from many pedals for deposit into the nearby pistil, whose honey-covered voice drips through the microphone. Through sketches from skeletal to saturated, these profusely flowering violets will check the melancholy of those oppressed with a sad mind, making them happy and making their breathing healthy. Thus are the visceral aims of this newly registered cultivar.
