Bridging The Gap is a collaborative album that is bringing together one of the legends in hip-hop history, Chubb Rock and breakthrough artist/underground emcee Wordsmith.
This groundbreaking project began when Chubb Rock asked this talented unsigned artist to be involved in this comeback collaborative album after working together on a track called “Block Party Bonanza”, which can be found as an iTunes exclusive on Bridging The Gap. Chubb Rock refers to himself as representing the “Golden Era” whereas Wordsmith is representing the “New School”. The album is able to successfully and artistically blend and fill the “gap” of old age and new age hip-hop.
The album includes such tracks as “Back In”, which showcases Nu Revolution producer Strada's relaxed boardwork and features artist Kimia Collins’ soulful hook. The two emcees bring distinct brands of lyrical freshness to the table: Chubb channeling his commanding rasp into compellingly freeform rhymes and Word showcasing his skills as a storyteller.
