Slim & P of GTC (Grind Time Central) started out their career in a group of about ten guys. Time and hard work proved to be too much for the other eight members. As a group, OutKast influenced them, mainly because their styles were different but they blended so well.GTC's blend of melodic R&B hooks, fluid raps, and the southern influenced drum patterns of their Trak-ademicks production crew, Epitomizes Dayton, Ohio's wing of hip-hop's rising force, The Midwest. GTC is trying to take the Midwest hip-hop scene in bold, innovative new directions: less reliance on aggression and the ‘dope boy’ lifestyle, but focusing on the creativity, and bringing talent back to the hip-hop industry. With melody, thicker arrangements, and intricate lyrics, GTC plan to take the rap world by storm. GTC has opened for Plies, Yung Joc, Lil Scrappy, Gucci Mane, and Mimms. After P the Profit and Slim aka Mr. Music broke the local radio barrier with their first hit single, "Clean," the duo embarked on a run of hit singles.
