James Casto started his music career as a drummer doing session work and live performances in Atlanta, GA. Not seeing much of a future in music, Casto earned a MBA from the University of Notre Dame and set out to make it in the business world. But his passion for music and songwriting never left. So, in 2002, Casto took a leap of faith, left corporate American and began aggressively pursuing songwriting. He quickly became a mainstay in Nashville and a regular performer in Atlanta, Chicago, Louisville, New York City and the Eastern US. 2006 became a breakthrough year for Casto when platinum selling country artist Lila McCann recorded his song "Peace On Earth." In addition to cuts by numerous independent artists, Casto has written for Mazda, Kroger, Macy’s, Mercy Ships International, the City of Alpharetta, GA, and many others. As a performer with two recent solo releases and a third due out in early 2009, critics often compare him to Marc Cohn, Van Morrison, and Phil Vassar.
