Like most significant things in life, Hail the Tragedy underwent various transformations (and continues to do so) before arriving at where it has. Hail the Tragedy's first lineup included Rique (guitarist), Sean Collins (bass), Alexander Shantz (vocalist) and Danny Cooper (drums). As a four piece they created solid heavy music. However, it was static. It wasn't fresh. Then Hail the Tragedy found Richard Beavin (guitarist) who solved this problem by giving the already solid heaviness a chunky metal edge. Hail the Tragedy’s sound is different. The music comes from five people who all have different ideas and musical influences. But somehow, it works. Somehow they have managed to harness the different talents and preferences of each member, and they created a sound that is so heavy and passionate but at the same time beautiful and honest.
