ZU had met the other members of Four Star Mary while attending Super Friends training camp back in 1997. He had heard that the Super Friends were looking for some new Super Heros to add to the Legion of Honor and ZU thought he might finally be able to put his ability to shoot lasers from his eyes to good use. In an unfortunate series of events ZU inadvertently blew up Wonder Woman's invisible plane...

ZU had met the other members of Four Star Mary while attending Super Friends training camp back in 1997. He had heard that the Super Friends were looking for some new Super Heros to add to the Legion of Honor and ZU thought he might finally be able to put his ability to shoot lasers from his eyes to good use. In an unfortunate series of events ZU inadvertently blew up Wonder Woman's invisible plane during the final exam and he was sent packing.

ZU was sitting in the local pub drowning in his sorrows when in walked Derrick and Tad. Both recently sent home from Super Hero camp. Derrick had performance anxiety and in pressure situations couldn't use power to telekinetically move things. Tad let his power of shooting fire from his hands get out of control and started lighting everything on fire including Aqua man.

They were a sorry lot that had nothing but failing out of Super Hero camp in common. They decided if they couldn't use their powers for good they would vow never to use them at all.
