This trial by fire Woody Guthrie style initiation was not too extreme however for the founder and soul member of indie outfit Benny Strange, David Avram Brown.
Since the release of his self produced EP entitled Nowhere Left to Run in September of 2006, Benny Strange has won over thousands of new fans, was hand selected to play the highly regarded South by Southwest Music Conference and rescued his instruments from a burning rehearsal building. Yes, the building was on fire! His equipment still smells a little bit like smoke.
