Marie McGilvray plays guitar. She has since she was 11. She writes melodic alternative-folk songs (alternative = doesn’t always follow traditional folk strong structure, uses various instrumentation). She has a textured vibrato voice that is soulful, emotional and soothing. Her music explores the universal themes of love, relationships and spirituality. She is a powerful, captivating and inspiring performer. This past year she released her debut CD “Big Love”, was a showcase artist at the Dewey Beach Music Conference, Midpoint Music Fest and GoGirls Music Fest-Nashville; she also performed at Googie’s Lounge in NY, Summersongs 2007 and house concerts from coast to coast (California to New Jersey).
