Bio: A New York native born into a family of singers and musicians, Stanley Jamal Hampton has been singing and drumming since the age of four.
In 96 Producer Bert Price impressed with Jamal’s explosive talent, began his search for other similarly accomplished boys to form an R&B Boy Band. After discovering John Fitch (Bass), Olamide Faison (Guitar), and Talib Kareem (Piano) a natural artistic chemistry emerged, Imajin. The group of child prodigies secured a recording deal with Jive records. For two years the boys toured throughout the United States and Europe to promote album Imajin and there single “Shorty” which went gold on the charts. After spending four years together the boys decided to venture out and explore their individual goals.
Focused on becoming a solo singer Jamal spent his time perfecting his sound by studying the techniques of singers such as Karen Clark Sheard, Kim Burrell, and Marvin Wynans. Jamal sites “I want to make a mark in this industry”.
