Brenda MacIntyre is known as Medicine Song Woman and her latest music is filled with reasons why. Haunting Native American chants, uplifting lyrics and soulful vocals mingle with African/Native percussion, evocative guitar, bass and Middle Eastern flute.
Based in Toronto, Brenda performs and speaks internationally and has appeared nationally on MuchMusic, APTN, OMNI, CTV, Global, CP24, Vision and Telelatino Network. Her last CD was nominated for a 2007 Aboriginal People’s Choice Award and Brenda was Toronto’s 2007 Aboriginal Businesswoman of the Year.
Her latest CD Medicine Song was released in August 2009 and has enjoyed airplay on CBC, CIUT 89.5 FM and other radio stations across Canada. “Back in the River” (Track 13) was featured as “Our Pick” in September 2009 on CFWE FM in Edmonton.
