Joi's career has encompassed a variety of musical endeavors. "Ahead of her time" is a cliche thrown around too often these days, but in the case of the sultry southern songstress it is a perfect way to depict her. in 1991, Joi linked up with Dallas Austin. A record contract with EMI followed. In 1993, Joi's debut disc "The Pendulum Vibe" was released to critical acclaim. it even caught the attention of superstar singer Madonna, inspiring the direction of her "Bedtime Stories" LP. in 1996, she worked hard and focused on her sophomore album "Amoeba Cleansing Syndrome" which was never released commercially due to label disputes, but is still a cult classic amongst faithful fans. in 2002, Joi returned with the stunning and sexy "Starkitty's Revenge". One review called the album "the best baby making music since Barry White". in 2006 Joi release "Tennessee Slim Is The Bomb" on her newly developed "Joilicious Music" label. the album features appearances by Raphael Saadiq, George Clinton, Pharcyde and many more.
