Emily Asen is a 24 year-old singer-songwriter from Fairfield, Connecticut. Her music is a fusion of folk and indie rock that she lovingly refers to as "neofolk." With influences as varied as Aimee Mann and Zero 7, she creates an eclectic and unique sound using thoughtful lyrics, innovative production, and equally inspiring songwriting.
Emily’s latest record, Proof LP (2008) is a self-produced and self-performed record, revealing her evolution as both musician and producer. The songs were recorded using Emily’s modest home-recording setup, demonstrating her independence and talent as an artist.
Since 2003, Emily has been developing a solid fanbase through live shows around the Northeast, her home-recorded YouTube videos, and a dynamic MySpace page. She attracts fans from all walks of life and from many countries including Canada, Australia, and England, in addition to the U.S. Her music is currently receiving airplay on over 150 college stations nationwide.
