Myxer Fanlists™ are a great way to connect with your favorite bands. By joining a band's fanlist, you allow the band to
occasionally send text messages directly to your mobile phone to update you with concert information, new releases, or other messages.

How do I subscribe to a fanlist?
It's easy! Simply click the "join the fanlist" link from a band's profile page.
How do I unsubscribe from a fanlist?
You can unsubscribe and manage all aspects of your fanlist subscriptions from the
fanlists section of your account settings. Once
you've unsubscribed from a fanlist, you will never receive another message from that band.
Is my phone number safe?
Your phone number is not given out to anyone when you join a fanlist. Fanlist
messages, while composed by bands, are actually delivered by Myxer. We keep your
private information private, as per our strict privacy policy.
Note that, by default, anyone on Myxer can see what fanlists you have subscribed to.
The only identifying information they will see is your display name. If you'd prefer
to join a fanlist anonymously (such that neither the band nor anyone else can see that
you've joined), simply check the "Don't show me in the list" checkbox when signing up.
How many messages will I be sent?
You have complete control over the number of messages that you will receive from
every fanlist you join. By default, we will deliver at most 3 messages per week
from each fanlist you've subscribed to. You can change this limit at any time by
visiting the fanlists section of your account settings.
Does it cost anything to join a fanlist?
Myxer doesn't charge you anything to join a fanlist, and we don't charge you
for the messages that are sent. Because the messages are sent via SMS to your phone,
you will be charged normal text messaging charges by your mobile carrier.
Creating and Sending to Fanlists
How do I create a fanlist?
If you have a MyxerIndie artist account, it already has an associated fanlist.
There's nothing you need to do.
Can I see who has subscribed to my fanlist?
Your fanlist membership is visible on your artist profile page. Note that any users
who have elected to sign up anonymously will not show up in the list.
The only information you can see about users on your fanlist is information that
is in the user's public Myxer profile. Specifically, you will not have access
to phone numbers or email addresses.
No. The only information you are provided about the subscribers to your fanlist is
the information from their public Myxer profile.
What should I use my fanlist for?
Fanlists are a great way to send out concert and new release notifications, and can
even be used to push new ringtones or wallpapers directly to your fans' phones!
Can my fans send me messages through the fanlist?
No. fanlists are currently one-way, so your fans will not be able to send messages
to you, or reply to messages you send via the fanlist. We're still working out the
details of how we might allow for two-way communications via fanlists.
How many fans can be on my fanlist?
There is currently no limit to the number of fans that can be on your fanlist.
How often may I send messages to my fanlist?
While there is currently no hard-coded limit on the number of messages you can send
to your fanlist, we think it would probably be considered impolite to send more than
a couple a week. Keep in mind that your fans are free to set limits on the number
of messages they will receive from you, and by default, they will only receive three
per week. So if you send too frequently, you'll be losing some of your audience.
