Downloading Ringtones and Wallpapers from Myxer to Your Phone

Overview

Myxer is the best way to make and share mobile phone ringtones and wallpapers.

Myxer delivers mobile content (like ringtones, wallpapers, and videos) to your phone using text messaging and internet downloads. Once you've downloaded content once, it's a snap to do in the future. But each phone is a little bit different, and some make it easier than others to figure out how to actually get the stuff onto your phone. This guide will help you through the simple steps.

Download Process

Requesting a Ringtone or Wallpaper from Myxer

Requesting a Ringtone or Wallpaper

Entering your Phone Number on Myxer.com

You can send send ringtones and wallpapers from our website to your phone by entering your phone number and clicking the send button.

Using a MyxerCode from your Phone

Using a MyxerCode from your Phone

You can also get ringtones directly from your phone. Every ringtone and wallpaper that is sold in the Myxer catalog has a unique MyxerCode™ associated with it. You can request that the content be sent to your phone simply by texting the MyxerCode to shortcode 69937 ("myxer").

Note: requesting ringtones by MyxerCode currently only works in the United States. If you're not in the US you can still get your ringtones from our website.

Downloading Ringtones to a Non-Verizon Phone

Note: if you have a Verizon phone, things are just a little different (actually, a lot different). Please see Downloading Ringtones on Your Verizon Phone below.

Receiving the text message on your phone

When you request a ringtone or wallpaper from us, the first that happens is that we send a text message to your phone. The text message doesn't contain the ringtone itself - it just contains a pointer to the ringtone in the form of a hyperlink, the same kind of link you're used to following on the web to navigate to another page.

Ringtone Notification Message

The link in the message you receive will look something like the image to the left, with text similar to:
Myxer: Cool Song by The Dude
Follow this link: http://m.myxer.com/dl/123/456/

(The text message may come from 69937, from sms@myxer.com, of your email address)

The next step is for you to use your phone's mini-browser to follow the link in the message. This is generally done either by using a menu option like "go to", or by using the arrow keys on your phone to select the link just like you'd do in a web browser.

See below for manufacturer-specific step-by-step instructions for downloading the ringtone to your phone.
