In the era of fly by night bands, it’s rare to see an artist or band that has remained at once vital and varied, and even more so to find one that continues to excel and grow artistically after 25 years on the scene. Storming your MTV with his unique brand of Rock-a-Billy via the Stray Cats back in ’82, Brian Setzer has done his part to eschew the mainstream; yet his continuity and success despite it has earned him an endearing, die-hard following. His latest project, Wolfgang’s Big Night Out is a groovin’ reinterpretation of classics by the masters, including Tchaikovsky, Bach and Beethoven, who’s “Fur Elise” gets the tr%^%*nt here.
